C300 sedan and C300 cabriolet. Faint hope that one of them was a 63/63s... even a 43... But nope. Chrome “ belt” around the cabriolet is kind of awful.

Gross. Hot take: Most convertibles suck.

Eh still better than two crossovers, y’all hate too much. And those C300 Cabs/Coupes drive very different from the sedans and get sport seats and a fancy airscarf and stuff. I killed a guy in a brand new Shelb y GT350 last year through a nice twisty section and then he blasted past me on the straight when I was in a C300 Cab. That car is no slouch

WRONG

Agreed. I’m an owner of a convertible that doesn’t suck, but if I had it to do over I would wait for a coupe.

The 300 cab looks nice with the top down - the chrome strip is less obvious. Looks very meh with the top up though.

Prove me wrong. What version of a car that comes in both coupe/sedan and convertible has a better convertible?

The Miata is the leader there - I have zero clue why anyone would want an RF, that’s an objectively worse car than the roadster is. Also the R107 Mercedes - the SLC is hideous. Plus a lot of cars built in the ‘50s through the 80's.
But yeah, in general, convertibles add weight (except cars that began life as convertibles) and reduce structural integrity - how much depends on how well engineered they are. Personally, I’ll happily take that trade off, unless I plan to track the car.

The 90s E Cabriolet. The convertibles are fucking awesome. Convertibles are the best, just not as a daily. On a nice summer night tho theres nothing like feeling the wind in your hair as you bang shifts in your MG midget. I’ve only ever owned coupes and sedans, but if I had the ability to have a car purely as my fun car it would be a droptop. People can talk all they want about them not being as stiff, but that shit is all relative, cause a new convertible is usually more stiff than outgoing generation coupes

The convertible’s top goes down. The other ones don’t. Convertible wins by default. You might not live in a climate where that’s desirable, but for those of us in more temperate locations, convertibles are lovely.

I didn’t know Mercedes made a convertible C UV.
